2015 Del Mar Fair Photography Results

Well, better late than never, I suppose.  I entered three juried photography competitions earlier this year.  Realizing that this year is rapidly coming to a close, I decided that I should probably blog the results before the next year’s competitions sneak up on me.

So, without further ado…

I entered ten photographs in this year’s competition.  Seven of the ten made it through the first round of judging.  In case you are unfamiliar with the process at Del Mar, first, you must submit digital images for the first tier of judging.  If you are lucky enough to pass the first round, you then have a short period of time in which to have your entries printed and readied for the second tier judging.  If you are like me, out of the area, you will have to mail your images and they must arrive on a specific timeframe.  Oh, and all of the entries must by 16×20 inches.

Below are the images that made it through the first round and onto the second.  I did not place in the money this year, but did receive 3 honorable mentions, and all of the images were approved for hanging. (Yes, you have to be approved just to hang your work in this competition!)

This is a very competitive competition, attracting some pretty talented people from all over the world. I can’t wait until next year!
